     I was thrilled after Saturday’s No King’s march –- especially when the crowds of at least 2,000,000 people nationwide vastly surpassed the few who attended Trump’s march in Washington.  Plus, the soldiers in that parade showed their displeasure by marching slumped over, out of step, and generally not in a normal military fashion.

     But since then, I’ve been down.  After Sunday, media reaction disappeared, overtaken by the Israeli-Iran war.  Trump has completely ignored what happened.  Instead, he is putting pressure on senators to enact his so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill.”  Despite his increasing dementia, most Republican senators seem to be ready to vote for it.  That’s why we need to do everything we can to stop them.

     It’s important to emphasize issues that would attract red-state senators to vote against it.  First, the bill would increase the deficit by $2.8 TRILLION!  Next, it would implement severe cuts in Medicaid, SNAP, and probably, Medicare.  The so-called tax cuts would be miniscule.  Finally, many of these senators are already fearful of meeting their constituents, some of whom come dressed as chickens.  After Saturday, June 14th, this fear will only increase. So I’m going to write every Republican senator and I urge you to join me.  Numerous studies have shown that letters, even from non-constituents, impact politicians far more than phone calls or petitions.
